Dr. Shonda B. Love is a nationally recognized tax professional, visionary founder, and influential leader within the financial services industry. She is the Founder and Executive Director of The Association of Black Tax Professionals (ABTP), a premier national organization established in May 2019 to serve, support, and elevate Black tax professionals across the United States. What began as a mission-driven initiative has grown into a powerful and expanding professional network of over 7k+ members and counting, making ABTP one of the fastest-growing tax associations in the country.

Under Dr. Love’s leadership, ABTP has developed into a comprehensive ecosystem designed to meet the evolving needs of its members. The organization offers high-quality educational resources, structured mentorship programs, targeted marketing support, and strategic business development tools that enable members to build compliant, profitable, and scalable tax practices. Dr. Love, alongside ABTP’s founding members and national Ambassadors, remains deeply committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by Black tax professionals while creating sustainable pathways for long-term success.

ABTP proudly maintains a robust Online Member Directory, a growing and searchable platform that connects tax professionals nationwide, increases visibility for Black-owned tax firms, and encourages collaboration, referrals, and professional partnerships within the community. This directory reflects the strength and continued growth of ABTP’s national presence.

In addition, Dr. Love spearheaded the development of ABTP Tax Resolution, an exclusive members-only initiative designed to provide advanced training, resources, and support in the specialized area of tax resolution. This program equips members with the knowledge and confidence to handle complex tax cases, expand their service offerings, and increase revenue while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance.

Dr. Love also founded ABTP Christian University, an innovative educational platform that integrates professional excellence with faith-based leadership. The university is committed to developing principled tax professionals by combining technical tax education, business strategy, leadership development, and Christian values. This initiative reflects Dr. Love’s holistic approach to professional growth—developing not only skilled practitioners, but purpose-driven leaders within the industry.

A cornerstone of ABTP’s impact is its National Tax Conference, an annual flagship event hosted by the organization under Dr. Love’s leadership.
